The roots of The Moonlight Drifters run deep, from the surfin sounds of California, the Bluegrass of Kentucky, the mean streets of Detroit to the rockin' SUN sounds of Memphis. The Moonlight Drifters combine a lot of influences to create an exciting sound that is unique and yet very familiar. The Moonlight Drifters formed late in 2006. Mike McCormack a classically trained guitarist, found the perfect partner Les Piela bassist, where the two have been performing together in other bands for 20 years. Rounding out the trio is John Castiglione on the thundering drums. Individually, they have performed professionally for over 25 years, backing national acts such as the Crystal’s, Darlene Love, and the Ronnette’s. United they have opened and performed for known artists, government officials, and actor’s and actresses.
Based out of Northern New Jersey, The Moonlight Drifters permeates with a talented trio of seasoned performers that bring decades of collective professional experience and thousands of gigs as its core. The band’s live performances are an energetic celebration, captivating and engaging the audience from the first song to the last, keeping it simple with just three rocking instruments. Their extensive repertoire covers everything from classic party rock, surf rock, rockabilly, country/bluegrass, oldies to smooth jazz/standards, all while adding their own interpretation to the performance! Performing an array of hits by legendary artists such as: The Beatles, Elvis, Jimmy Buffet, Frank Sinatra, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Hot Tuna, The Ventures, AC/DC, Van Morrison, The Monkees, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Gordon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Eagles, to name a few. The Moonlight Drifters provides a fantastic night’s entertainment with their exciting and fun performances; whatever the venue whatever the occasion with the emphasis on creating the right atmosphere.
